Overview

This website, morrowandloom.com, is operated by Morrow & Loom. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Morrow & Loom. “You” means anyone who visits the site or buys from us.

By visiting the site or placing an order, you agree to these terms, together with our shipping and cancellations information, our refund policy and our privacy policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page when you place an order is the one that applies to that order.

Our store is hosted on Shopify, the platform we use to sell our pieces to you.

1. Using the site

To place an order, you must be at least the age of majority where you live, or have the consent of a parent or guardian.

You agree not to use the site for any unlawful purpose, to interfere with how it works, or to try to gain unauthorised access to it or to any account that is not yours.

We may refuse service to anyone, at any time, for any lawful reason.

2. Your account

You can sign in to your account with a code sent to your email address. Your order history and tracking are kept there. You are responsible for keeping access to your email account secure.

3. Our pieces

Each piece is made by hand with a traditional craft, such as mother-of-pearl inlay, layered lacquer or Song brocade. Metal parts are gold vermeil or sterling silver.

Because every piece is made by hand, small differences in colour, pattern and finish are to be expected, and your piece may differ slightly from the photographs. Colours may also look different depending on your screen.

Sizes and lengths are given on each product page.

We take care to describe every piece accurately, but we do not guarantee that all descriptions or other content on the site are free of errors. If we find an error that affects your order, we will contact you.

4. Prices and payment

Prices are shown on each product page and confirmed at checkout.

We may change prices or discontinue pieces at any time without notice. Changes do not affect orders already confirmed.

Payment is taken at checkout. By placing an order, you confirm that you are authorised to use the payment method you provide.

5. Orders

An order is an offer to buy. We accept it when your piece leaves the bench and we send your shipping confirmation.

We may limit or cancel any order, including where a piece is unavailable, where there is an error in the price or description, or where we suspect fraud. If we cancel an order after payment, we will refund you in full to your original payment method within 10 business days.

You can cancel an order within 24 hours of placing it, as long as it has not shipped, by emailing us at morrowandloom@gmail.com with your order number. We will refund you in full to your original payment method within 10 business days. After 24 hours, or once the order has shipped, it cannot be cancelled.

6. Shipping, cancellations and returns

Shipping and cancellations are covered on our shipping and cancellations page, our shipping policy and our refund policy. In short: shipping is complimentary on orders over US$300, orders leave the bench within 3 working days, or up to two weeks for pieces handcrafted to order, orders can be cancelled within 24 hours of being placed, and all sales are final: we do not accept returns or exchanges for a change of mind. If a piece arrives damaged, faulty or is not what you ordered, email us with your order number and a photo and we will put it right. None of this affects your statutory rights.

7. Care

To keep your piece at its best, keep it away from water, perfume and lotions, and store it in its pouch. Wear or damage caused by not following this care guidance is not a fault.

8. Intellectual property

All content on this site, including designs, photographs, text, and the Morrow & Loom name and logo, belongs to Morrow & Loom or is used with permission. You may not copy, reproduce or use it for commercial purposes without our written permission.

9. Comments and submissions

If you send us comments, reviews, ideas or other material, you agree that we may use them without obligation to you. You agree that anything you send will not be unlawful or abusive, and will not infringe anyone else’s rights.

10. Newsletter

If you sign up to Letters from the bench, we will send you occasional emails. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.

11. Third-party links and tools

The site may include links to, or tools provided by, third parties. We are not responsible for their content or practices, and you use them at your own discretion.

12. Personal information

How we handle your personal information is set out in our privacy policy.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the site or from any piece bought from it.

Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded or limited by law.

14. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against any claims arising from your breach of these terms or your misuse of the site.

15. Severability

If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.

16. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
