Our story
Heritage craft, made for today
Morrow & Loom makes jewellery with crafts recognised as intangible cultural heritage in China, such as mother-of-pearl inlay, layered lacquer and Song brocade. We work with artisans trained in these crafts, set their work into quiet, modern pieces meant to be worn every day, kept for years and passed on, and keep looking for new techniques to bring into the collection.
Loom is for the craft: the weaver's loom, and every workbench where an old technique is still practised by hand. Morrow is for tomorrow: a craft lives on only while people still wear what it makes. Our mark is a single line that draws a heart and runs on, the way a thread runs through the loom.
How we work
Small batches, by hand
Heritage crafts cannot be hurried. Lacquer needs days to cure between coats, shell is cut and laid piece by piece, and brocade is woven at the pace of the loom. We make in small batches, and when something sells out it comes back when it is ready, not before.
